This pendant was a commissioned piece. The goal was to create a piece of custom jewelry that perfectly fit a carved jade medallion that holds sentimental value for the customer.
Here are some stills and a video of a Custom jewelry creation that includes 5 pear shaped amethyst stones set in sterling silver. The piece was carved from wax, cast and set in store at Custom.
This project represents easily one of the most labor intensive we have taken on here at Custom.
This ring is a great example of the range of capabilities we have here at Custom. It is another commissioned piece, based on a photograph torn from a magazine.
This project was a commission for a pair of matching, sterling silver rings. We were given carte blanche on the design. Our relationship with the customer let us know that these should be contemporary, if not downright strange.
As promised in an earlier post , here is some video of the actual casting part of making a cast piece of jewelry. Before this step, a model must be created. The model can be carved from wax or be some sort of organic material, both of which burn away at the temperatures reached inside the kiln shown in the video. Before the models go into the kiln, they are invested.
This is the step by step process of making custom jewelry from wax. Our jewelry store can do the same for you.
